Our approach to beekeeping is rooted in sustainability and respect for nature and each other. All community members prioritise the well-being of their bees, striving to create an environment that supports the bee’s natural instincts allowing them to thrive. By adopting responsible practices, we minimise our impact on the environment while maximising the benefits that bees provide.

Meet some of our beekeepers

    Myfanwy

    Myanwy is the club secretary and is a senior beekeeeper, trainer and mentor with the club. She keeps bees in the Castlecove region.

    Brendan

    Brendan is a senior beekeeper, trainer and mentor in the club and keeps several hives between Cork and Kerry.

    Jeff

    Jeff is the clubs public relations man, a senior beekeeeper, trainer and mentor. He keeps several hives between his homeplace near Parknasilla and the club apiary .

    Steve

    Steve is the club health and safety officer and has been beekeeping for several years now on his homestead just off the ring of Kerry. Their award winning honey and mead are amazing.

    Conor O

    Conor is our newly appointed chairman and started on his beekeeping journey only 2 years ago. He currently keeps 3 hives and two caught swarm nucs just outside the village near Tahilla.
